‍ ‍ As an artist, I believe environments are the first impression a story has on the reader. Every story needs environmental art that brings the story to life and creates curiosity and a desire to want to explore it more. My goal is to bring worlds to life to guide the story that is being told. My process starts with studying the characters and story line. What do their clothes look like? What is the story about? Is the story light hearted or dark? Who is the audience and what is it rated? I research the clothing and what the architecture and this time frame while also adding creative modern touches if preferred. I enjoy a good challenge and will bring my client’s story world to life. ‍ ‍

About me

Landscapes

Watercolor

5×8

This painting was painted inside the Earl Burns Japanese Garden, capturing one of many small structures in the landscape. I wanted to capture the structure’s rough texture and the thin, light feeling of the leaves that surrounded it.

Digital

5×8

These pieces were made as practice to work on different landscape compositions and color theory. One is a desert region, while the other is a snowy region. I wanted to show the relationship between colors and work with a specific palette to challenge myself.

Watercolor

5×8

This painting is a portrait of a tree I did as practice in order to better my shading and color theory. I used a reference photo I liked and removed the buildings around it to focus mainly on the tree’s structure and color.

Watercolor

12×24

This painting is a piece I recreated, titled Villa Di Marila Lucca by John Singer Sargent. The piece is of a garden in Tuscan Italy that consists of various plants and stone balustrades, statues, and dramatic sunlight and shadows.

Watercolor

5×8

This painting is a personal one that captures a certain area of a park I used to visit as a child. I aimed to capture the variety of color around me, especially during that hour of day when the sun would shine down on all the trees and show their colors and shaded areas.
